Stay in the sun when the sunshine is gone and you will see the sunshine lives within you
Our Adult Support Group takes place once per month.
Stroud Support Group runs on the first Wednesday of the month from 7pm to 9pm.
The group is available to over 18s only and is facilitated by Lorraine Meylor-Warlow who is an Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. There are also four Sunflowers volunteers who help run the group; Andy, Wendy, Graham and Di.
Lorraine is available at the end of the session if you need a chat.
She is also available to book for counselling sessions on a 1-2-1 basis (her standard fees apply)
The first hour of the group is based around a specific topic. There are different topics to discuss each month and the members of the group are able to contribute to what topics they would find helpful when we plan the sessions.
At the end of the first hour there is a time to chat with one another and have tea/coffee.
Sunflowers is a family; we are all experiecing our own grief and walking at different points in our journeys. We pride ourselves on being inclusive and encouraging one another. As a group we have agreed on certain 'guidelines' to ensure everyone feels safe and supported. Respecting one anothers grief and experience, caring for each other, ensuring all members feel comfortable and being aware of triggering topics are some of the guidelines we use to do this. The support group is a really friendly and encouranging session to be with others and help you feel less alone in the darkness.
